How to relax...

The bike shop phoned on Wednesday to say that my new saddle had arrived - hooray!  It was easy enough to fix on the bike and looked, um, totally the same shape.

It still hurts, but at least it's in different places...

On Friday I had a proper day off.  The idea had been to meet up with Pedalling Paula and cycle (including lunch somewhere) around Tetbury.  However, the forecast was atrocious, and we decided two middle-aged women pedalling in gale force winds, torrential rain and floods was probably Not A Good Idea.  So we've postponed it.

Naturally the forecasters had got it wrong, and Friday was just drizzly, which would have been fine... Sometimes I do think a bit of seaweed dangled out of the window would work just as well.  Hey ho.

So I did my own thing at home - I cycled, the little computer thingy wouldn't register any distance which meant a quick pedal down to the bike shop to get it fixed and back, a few more miles (15 in all) on the turbo trainer, then a 2k run with Fairly Freaky Running Dog and finally a 1k swim.  I can do relaxing.

A few more miles in the week,  yesterday and a quick sprint this morning means that this week I have cycled (drum roll) FIFTY MILES!!  I did it!  YAY!  So now I'm aiming for 60 miles a week by the end of February...

And I'm still walking like John Wayne.

  1. I presume that the seat is like that so that you don't need to get off if you need a wee?
