Forty-Three

This week we spent more time at the vets with Freaky Running Dog.  Whilst we were waiting we were enthralled by the variety of dogs waiting to be seen, and just how staggeringly similar most of them looked to their owners.  Obviously this doesn't apply to us.

The upshot from the vets is that she has muscle strain, lacks stamina, might benefit from a total change of diet and may need physiotherapy...  Nope, nothing like me at all.

My aim to be cycling 50 miles a week by the end of January is actually on track!  I know - not like me at all...  Last week was 25 miles, this week I've done 43 - yay!  Slightly thwarted by a pear-shaped Thursday which resulted in only 6 miles done very quickly.  If that could have been a bit more I might have been Very Close To Fifty.  There's still a week and a half of January left so I should get there.

The turbo trainer is still great - still in the shed and still the highlight of my training regime.  I've put new batteries in the radio so I have something to listen to, and I might even go so far as to take the laptop and a DVD with me...

The saddle is as sharp as ever and the lovely Melodeon Master has ordered me a new one which is rather worryingly called a Lady-Man Flow.  It might have had a better name in its native Italian...

I'm hoping it will stop me walking like John Wayne.
