Freaky Running Dog had physiotherapy on Tuesday. And acupuncture. And walking on a treadmill in water...
The upshot is that she's slightly dehydrated, she's desperately nervous, she walks like John Wayne because she spent so long being sore inside and now she's got wasted muscles on her back legs and needs physiotherapy to get them right again. It set me thinking that, despite my protestations that I don't look like her, we've got more in common than I thought....
FRD: Needs physiotherapy for dodgy muscles.
Me: Needs physiotherapy for dodgy muscles.
FRD: Walks like John Wayne because of previously unwell insides.
Me: Walks like John Wayne because of uncomfortable bike saddle.
FRD: Doesn't drink enough water.
Me: Drinks plenty but not necessarily water.
FRD: Desperately nervous, acupuncture will help.
Me: Slightly stressed sometimes, wine will help.
FRD: Can run, but currently on 'slow walking' training to build up muscle.
Me: Rubbish at running, currently on 'slow running' training as that's all I'm capable of.
FRD: On a very healthy 'BARF' diet (raw food) which she loves. Going well.
Me: On a very healthy 'no sugar for February' diet - had half a cookie yesterday (new recipe, needed testing) and hot chocolate today (IKEA, didn't want coffee). Not going well.
FRD: Sleeps well, dreams of chasing rabbits.
Me: Sleeps well, dreams of Harvey Specter in Suits.
Nah, nothing like her.
On Friday I did 27 miles in one go on the turbo trainer. Two hours.
Still walking like John Wayne...
