I had a checkup with Chris the Chiro on Thursday and asked him why my knee hurt. Are you ready for this? He said it was over-training. I know!!! Me!!! OVER training. Hilarious! So obviously I've done nothing since then - apart from 30 hours decorating our kitchen (big kitchen, odd shaped walls, 16 beams) and consuming rather too much wine to recover after decorating for 10 hours a day.
And so to the SNOW. How brilliant is the snow! 3 days in and we can still make snowballs with it!
As the first part of our sporting challenges, the Melodeon Master and I had the Snowball Olympics. What do you mean you've never done it? Dead easy...
Game 1: Throw snowballs at each other (standing still and with a free aim) from 10m apart. Score: 3-0 to the Melodeon Master. He used to be a bowler for the local cricket team.
Game 2: Snowboules. Obviously. I ran round in little circles in the snow and then we threw snowboules - 10 points for the outer circle, 5 points for the inner. Score: 30-25 to the Melodeon Master.
Game 3: Roll snowballs across virgin snow. See whose goes furthest. Score? Take a wild guess? 3-0 to the Melodeon Master.
Sigh.
Still, at least I went out on my bike - in the snow. Yay!
Only as far as the village to get the papers - had to get back to the decorating and all that... Slippy stuff, snow...
And I tried to get my car out. Hmmm. We live up a little lane which is never gritted. Getting out is easy - think 'Smart Toboggan' - but getting back is usually impossible. So we parked in front of the empty house next to Fit Mark's house.
One should never, NEVER, leave one's car where Fit Mark can play with it.
Meet Algenon...
He's not very big, but he's very handsome. And he survived the drive back up to our house later today. Not entirely convinced he'll manage the drive to work tomorrow....
I hope he does, I'm already rather fond of him...
