For once I've actually done enough training... Well, enough as in 'that'll do' rather than enough to win an Olympic medal... And my legs ache, so after one really last really good training session yesterday, that's it, I'm officially tapering down. And I'm planning my race strategy. Everybody has one, so I thought I should too...
Swim
I'm sticking to breaststroke on the basis that I swallow WAY too much water when I do front crawl and as the swim is in the Ornamental Pond which will be full of Duck Poo And Stuff it's probably better if I swallow less rather than more. Not much else as a plan for this bit really apart from not getting kicked in the head and trying not to lose my goggles...
Bike
Pedal as quickly as possible for as long as possible. Sorted.
Run
I'm aiming for a slowish run. Yes, ok, when have I ever done anything else, I know...
Overall I want to beat my PB of 1 hour 41 minutes. However (and I'm not making excuses early) this is a different course and may be slightly a longer or shorter, and is apparently 'gently undulating'.
I just hope 'gently undulating' isn't in the same league as Elsie's 'cheeky little hill' which turned out to be a 1 in 5 monster...
