It's all about the bike...

The whole 'dog and a bike' thing is going well and we rattled round the forestry again on Tuesday.  Slightly further than before because of the scary sign saying 'Felling in process DO NOT CROSS THIS LINE' which of course I heeded as one should.  Happy Running Dog, on the other hand, can't read and probably wouldn't care anyway, so went happily hurtling through the red and white tape while I hollered at her from the safe side.  Of course, signs being what signs are, there wasn't any felling but we went round the long way and avoided it anyway.

I tried really really hard to keep up with Happy Running Dog and pedalled like crazy to go really fast.  I did pretty well, and actually overtook her towards the end.  Partly, it has to be said, because she took a left turn to chase a squirrel but, hey, I won the race to the car park gate!  Yay!

Yes, I am getting excited about beating a dog who didn't even know she was in a race.

When we got to the car park there was a couple getting out of a car so I said 'hello' in a slightly breathless but happy fashion.  They pretty much ignored me.

No idea why.

When I finally got cleaned up I went to a networking event in Cardiff where I met a proper cyclist.

Look - that's me with Nicole Cooke!  Proper gold medal cyclist!

I bought the book and shook her hand.  I'm hoping some of her talent rubs off, obviously.
