Sixty Five...

Sixty Five!  No, not my age although my knees could perhaps pass for 65...  but the miles ridden this week (hooray!)  And last week it was 75 miles including the 'longer than expected' 30 miles with Paula...  This training lark is going alright, I have to say.

Still experiencing some problems with the saddle issue but currently looking at yet another design from the USA.  Long way to go to look at it though...  So I'm Googling all the reviews I can, looking at the website and trying to figure out if it will work for me.  Because it's eye-wateringly expensive.  But then again my current saddle is just eye-wateringly uncomfortable for any length of time.  Like ten minutes.  Which doesn't exactly bode well for a 7 hour marathon...  It's lovely on the MTB, but with the 'angle of sit' on the road bike it's, well, eye-watering.

Other than that, I'm spending so long on the turbo training that I now know every cobweb in the shed, I've listened to some great radio programmes and I'm onto the March page of the Cupcake Calendar.  It makes me hungry looking at it while I'm pedalling.  This morning I followed the advice of some exercise guru or other I'd met who said 'exercise before breakfast' to get in shape.  After an hour pedalling and 15 minutes swimming I was feeling distinctly light-headed, so I won't be trying that again!  FOOD first.  Definitely.

Next week it will be exactly 6 months and 2 days to the RideLondon bike ride, so you have fair warning that I will be starting my fund-raising in earnest.  Shake the moths out of those wallets please!
