Dear Santa
Thank you very much indeed for my lovely presents. I'm so glad that I was in the 'nice' book this year despite the rather unseemly behaviour when dressed as a pirate wench in July.... In fact, it was especially nice of you to send me 'BackBeard's Birthday Suit' as a present - although having read it I am still a little unsure as to why he has a pig on his shoulder...
The three-lens glasses are brilliant! I now won't get flies in my eyes on RideLondon or in my training. I'm so glad you had noticed my strange squint after poking myself in the contact lens when I cycled into a bug on a training run. Lenses tend to fall out when you poke them, so the new glasses will be fab. The plain lenses will be great on normal days (when I'm normal obviously, although there aren't many of those) and the mirrored lenses will be good when I want to look like an England cricketer (probably never, let's face it after their recent form in Oz). I especially like the yellow lenses that make everything look brighter - not exactly rose-tinted, but definitely happy-tinted. Fab!
And what can I say about the turbo trainer? Wow. THANK YOU! It's now safely set up in the shed and I have already made great use of it.
It means I can train in the snow and the wind whilst watching a DVD - did you know there was one in the box with an 8 week training plan? This is great although IceBreaker is now only 6 weeks away so I'll just have to skip a couple of weeks. I'll let you know how that goes...
I may even be able to read my books while pedalling - 'Cycling the Tour de France Route' has given me some ideas, and the book on worm charming, shin kicking and bog snorkelling has given me even more ideas...
And finally, purple wellies! OK, I know these were from the Melodeon Master, but you obviously had 'Input'. They match my posh frock! It's a great look...
Lots of love,
Sunglass Sporting Turbo Cycling Welly Wearing Sarah
