That's not toetally helpful...

Training is going well.  Or, rather, training was going well...  Twice a day, swimming and cycling flat out on the heinous exercise bike - doing what is probably equivalent to a spin class, being that I now know what that is, having watched a video on YouTube and all that...  Eating properly, beginning to lose a few pounds, marvellous.

Then I went for a walk...  Well, route march really.  Trying my bestest to look smart for work, I was wearing heels (not very big ones, I'm lethal with anything either sharp or high) but needed to do LOTS one lunchtime, and in only half the time it should have taken.  So I hoofed very fast around Cardiff, about a mile and a half, in heels, on pavements.  Seriously bad idea.

Which is why I found myself in a rather strange little chiropodist's chair on Saturday morning having a 'minor surgical procedure' on a whacking great corn.  Yes, blood letting was involved... very messy.  I now have a fairly large and 'rapidly-getting-grotty' bandage on my toe and strict instructions not to get it wet for 3 days.  I can only wear one pair of old desert boots or flip-flops so I can't run.  Or swim.  I can, however, use the heinous exercise bike in my desert boots.  So I'm hammering the bike.  It's only what it deserves really....

I still have two weeks before the triathlon - the whole point of which is to beat my previous personal best on exactly the same course over exactly the same distance.  Or it would have been exactly the same distance if they hadn't moved the bike route.  So it's now 1.5k longer...  I'm still aiming to beat my previous personal best but '1.5k shorter' might have been more helpful.

But I am looking healthier.  In fact, some mornings I look in the mirror and think there are less wrinkles and a healthy glow.

Then I put my contact lenses in.
