PBX2

Yes, I've started blogging in code...

What it actually means is Personal Best X Two.  Yay!

On Tuesday I did what I'm calling my Monday run (well, ok, a day late then) which is a hilly 6.7 with Marple.  It seemed a lot easier this time and there was even a bit (about 100 metres) when I really enjoyed it ....  My original time was 1 hour 17 minutes.  This week?

1 hour 2 minutes.  Oh yes.  And that included a minute or so chatting to a very wiggly spaniel...

Yesterday Freaky Running Dog and I went to do Park Run again - only this time she really was Freaky and at 2.5k I gave her back to the Melodeon Master who was handily placed to take photos and receive freaky dogs...

That's Freaky Running Dog going sideways because there was a TREE there...

After I'd handed her over it was a lot easier - although we had already been lapped at 2k, just like last week.  But the time was better, and the sprint finish was better judged, resulting in a time of 34 minutes - 2 minutes quicker.

Whilst I was running round the park I was reminded of two quotes:

The first from Fit Mark - "Running never hurts any less, you just get quicker"  Soooooo true.

And the second from (I think) Bradley Wiggins about time trials but I guess it applies to a run too - "If you don't think you're going to make it to the end you've gone too fast at the start, if you think you're going to easily make it you've gone too slow, and if you think you might just make it, that's the right speed".  Yep, true again.

There are now 6 weeks to the triathlon.  I'm training hard on the heinous exercise bike (which I've worked out is 20 years old), swimming a lot and trying to buy a wetsuit on Ebay.

I'm also thinking about doing a spin class.  What's a spin class?

No idea, but it involves nice modern exercise bikes.
