- I've caught every bug going since the middle of February. Well, a week after IceBreaker really... I would have said I was superfit then. Fairly fit. Well, fit-ish. And since then.... rubbish.
- Chatting to Bristol Chris (he's called Chris and lives in Bristol) this week he said that his personal trainer is super-fit, does Iron Man and all that, and yet he always has a bug or a snuffle...
- My friend Running Tina did the Cardiff Half Marathon last October and since then has had bronchitis (twice) and pleurisy. That's not good...
So in an effort to be healthier so I can get fit, I'm now taking Vitamins B, C, D, Iron and Cod Liver Oil.
I rattle.
How soon do they work? I reckon I'm now at the tail end of this bug - I'm swimming gently and doing my chiro exercises, together with the core strength physio exercises that I'd forgotten about. No running or cycling yet. And certainly not the heinous exercise bike.
I never did do a spin class - that was planned for the week I got the nasty bug. But I watched a video on YouTube. Same thing as doing it, right?
And today I watched the London Marathon. Again, fitness by association.... Hats off to anybody who can manage 26 miles at a run. Or a jog. Or pulling an Aga (oh yes...) So proud of London after Boston - a beautiful city that I've visited a few times. As someone anonymously quoted on Facebook this week - "If you want to break the human spirit, don't pick on marathon runners..."
And finally, because we had actual SUNSHINE in Wales yesterday (first day this year, hooray) how about this for a great pic, as seen on Have I Got News For You on Friday...
Hats off to the brilliant Italian photographer, Andrea Zampatti. Apparently it took him days...
Is patience easier than fitness?
Never mind it taking him days, how did he get it to laugh?
ReplyDeleteHe showed it a picture of me running...
