Anyway, here goes:
- Train more. Like 4 times a week. Whether it's running, swimming* or cycling, just train more. Or 'practice' as it probably ought to be called.
- Drink less. Apparently it makes (a) above easier. Dammit, that should be (1) above. Memo to self: Drink less before blogging. Or before training. Or before anything really.
- Try more sports. This is one the Melodeon Master and I have said we'll do for the past three or four years. We say that we'll do something different every month, taking it in turns to choose the activity. This year we're actually going to do it and we're make it a competition - The 2013 Sporting Challenge. No, I haven't told the Melodeon Master it's going to be a competition. I'll wait until about August when I have an unassailable lead...
- Do 4 triathlons, 3 mud runs and something for charity. Gulp. Triathlons will be Try-a-Tri, Brecon, Dorney Lake (to beat my personal best) and... OK, it's 3. I can't count. Mud runs will be Ice Breaker, Dirty Weekend (what, both? Again? Hmmm) and Classic. And maybe a trip to Scotland because Equinox was so fabulous. So that's 4. Or 5. REALLY can't count. Something for charity - nope, no ideas yet. Anyone?
- Maintain elegance and poise at all times. I can do this.
*Swimming. I have, at long last, cracked the 'breathing whilst doing crawl' thing. One day, utterly exhausted after 5k flat out on the heinous exercise bike (hate it, love the results) I was too tired to bother whether I drowned or not. And I didn't lift my head when turning to breath, which made it SO much easier. Yay! Now I'm working on stamina, arms, legs and speed. And trying not to swallow all of the pool. Sort of everything, really...
And because it's Christmas I shall leave you with a festive picture. Just to prove I can do cutting edge fashion along with poise and elegance. And along with the Melodeon Master...
And finally (really)... BIG congrats to Sir Wiggo and Sir Dave of Sky. Truly inspirational, both of you...
