Weight training...

In an attempt to vary my training regime (although the fartleking and bricking is going Very Nicely Thank You) this week I also added weights.  This has nothing to do with the fact that the Melodeon Master and I were putting in a base for a new shed...

I've done resistance training (pulling a B&Q flat bed cart with 250kg of gravel on it)

I've done more resistance training (pulling a B&Q cart with 250kg of sand on it)

I've done rolling weights (you're right, that one may not actually have existed before now, but I don't know what else to call moving 14 concrete slabs end over end for A Long Way).

I've done arm strengthening exercises (moving the same 14 concrete slabs in a wheelbarrow, one at a time)

Weight lifting - 52 bags of either sand or cement, each weighing 25kg.  Down a flight of steps.  Also in and out of a car.  Did you know you can get ten 25kg bags of gravel in a Smart and the wheels still go round very happily?  Didn't try 20...

I've also done log shifting (had some trees trimmed in the garden), raking (sand and gravel) and moving 6 barrowloads of rubble to fill the big hole left by moving 18 barrowloads of soil out of the old veg patch last week.  We had to bring two loads back this week as we ran out of rubble and sand and gravel...

Total weight lifted this week:  2.25 tons of stuff.  Yes, that's TONS.

My little arms ache...

By way of light relief, and with the Classic now being two weeks today (YAY!!) Wee Gill and I have also been putting the finishing touches to our outfits.  With a little help...

She may be a Rubbish Running Dog but she's brilliant at dressing up!
