2 weeks to go...

The Mud Runner is two weeks yesterday. EEEEK! Ice Cream Sian still isn't running, Fit Mark has been whooping it up in Devon for Easter, and I appear to have eaten my own body weight in chocolate...

Still, on the plus side, I did 5k yesterday with no lasting ill effects - I stuck to Steve the Physio's advice and ran laps round a nice big grassy field. I did confuse John the Farmer just a bit - he arrived to feed the 200 or so sheep in the field and followed me round in his Landrover for a bit to see where I was trying to get to - I stopped for a chat and he asked if I was training for a marathon. Does he think I'm mad?! I explained about triathlons and he now definitely thinks I'm mad...

I thought I'd give the knees a rest today so I swam a mile and then Guy and I went out on the bikes - still getting used to the cleats, and the bike still wants to go faster than I do. We went 14k, ending up at the ice cream parlour for coffee and ice-cream... I managed not to fall off the bike this time (hooray), but Guy kept up the tradition by not getting his foot out of the pedal quick enough and toppling over sideways...

And we're getting ready for the Oblivion Mud Runner - I'm planning the party in the car park, we're having a Last Minute Eeek Meeting next weekend, and we have T shirts ready to go...

Fab or what? Huge thanks to Gareth the Sign for fab printing.

I've also been planning events beyond the Mud Runner - aiming at the Tri For Life again, only this time it's in July. I figure if I cycle 3 times a week, swim 3 times a week and run 3 times a week that should do it nicely. If I do one sport each day and have one rest day a week it'll be fine.

10 day week, anyone?
