So, triathlon related Christmas presents? Oh yes! Fabulous pink running top from Guy's mum which will be lovely if it ever thaws enough to run again, an amazing runners watch which can track my route, time, distance and upload it all to the computer so I can chart my progress (or lack of!) which will be lovely if it ever thaws enough to run again, and proper running gloves (complete with bits to wipe my snotty nose on and grippy bits on index finger and thumb to do fab new clever watch controls with) which will be lovely if it ever thaws enough... you get the picture!
Fit Mark kindly advised Guy on the watch issue... he had one of these when we did the Mud Run, and you can set them up to beep every kilometre, which would have been nice as I had no idea how far I'd gone. I think my fab new watch is the same as Fit Mark's, except mine has the added advantage of telling the time too... always a bonus in a watch.
And a book called 'Cycling in Wales' which is all sorts of routes to cycle... might be fun if it ever thaws enough to cycle again... The description for the route past Castell Coch says 'short steep climb up to Castell Coch'. STEEP? It's practically VERTICAL!!! Will take their descriptions with a pinch of salt...
And four plastic flashing ducks. Nope, I have no idea what they have to do with Triathlons either...
I gave Guy an onboard bike computer gadget, bike socks, bike sunglasses and bike 'keep your arms warm' thingies. Anyone else spot the theme here?
Challenge for this week? Varifocals!!! My new fab watch is very new and very fab, but I can't see it unless I'm wearing my reading glasses. I have tried varifocals before and it was an unmitigated disaster at a very swanky (and expensive) opticians. This time I'm heading for SpecSavers...
But only after a bit more sleep...
