Last week I vowed to not eat chocolate and drink less wine. I have done well on both counts - who knew giving up chocolate would be so simple, eh? Although I did have a slice of the Melodeon Master's chocolate birthday cake today (it would have been rude not to and it was a teensy slice) and because it's his birthday there has been wine involved...
I have promised to raise a minimum of £650 for Guide Dogs for the Blind. I like round numbers, so I've made it £1,000 instead.... I currently have £246 and I need to get cracking.
Because I think you should get a reward if you sponsor me, I've also set up a competition... Regular readers (the Melodeon Master's Mum, 36 people in Russia and Laura from Cardiff [hello Laura]) will know that the Melodeon Master and I make cakes. If you donate just £5 you're in with a chance of winning one of our decorated party/special occasion cakes. You can have whatever you want, like these:
We probably haven't thought it through in case somebody in Russia wins it....
Oooh, an official mention! It's only right to cough up then, isn't it? Which I will do. I'm not really from Cardiff either, even though Google thinks I am. I live in Llanbradach so I fully understand the hill thing. And, as a fully paid up member of the "didn't get round to training" club I'll be tackling Caerphilly 10k on Sunday having run zero miles since last Thursdsy - wish me luck!
