After much nail biting (well, not really, Glam Kath would kill me if I chewed them) and watching of USPS Parcel Tracking Progress, The Saddle finally arrived in the UK and then sat in HM Customs for FIVE days. Sigh. Finally they told me I had to pay some import duty (gee thanks), the Melodeon Master kindly coughed up and The Saddle was duly delivered. It is very beautiful.
To be fair (and a bit like me) it doesn't photograph well... My choice of colour was 'mahogany with copper rivets' on the basis that the pink one (still hankering for it) was rubbish leather. Sigh.
I'm still fiddling with the angle/height/adjusting thing but, so far, it seems to be so good. It is remarkably comfortable and the leather just sort of supports you without all that padding that other saddles have. Interesting (and patented!) design.
Today (and this isn't remotely connected to The Saddle) we had our FOURTH dog behaviourist to visit. This one was Dr Michelle and she really seemed to understand Freaky Running Dog. She has also worked extensively with Guide Dogs for the Blind and has given me a really good idea for fundraising. I will pedal on my turbo trainer in a supermarket's foyer for umpteen hours to raise money. And be visited by guide dog puppies. Who could resist a puppy, eh? It's absolutely bound to be a good money raiser.
The Melodeon Master and I are heading for warm weather training (oddly, he still insists on calling it a 'holiday') where I plan to swim lots, exercise bike lots, eat well and keep the fluid intake high. Yes, water.
Obviously.
