Is it spring yet?

I know there's too much water about and some poor people are flooded (so sorry Big Bruvver) but today in South Wales was positively springlike.  Still waterlogged underfoot, the roads still full of new potholes, still too much water everywhere, but a blue sky, puffy white clouds and the feeling that one day, perhaps, the weather might actually improve. So for fine weather cyclists like me the prospect of actually going on a proper road is suddenly a lot closer...

I've been on the turbo trainer, of course - 40 miles this week.  It would have been 60 (yay) but today really rather disappeared in between doing bits to a cake, garage visiting, dog walking, shopping, pressure-hosing and car-cleaning.  After all that lot 'just a quick 20 miles' sort of went out of the window.

I do, however, have a New Saddle.  Again.  This one has more padding and is, so far, much more comfortable - hooray!  I need to slightly adjust the angle and then I think it will be perfect.  I even managed 55 minutes on it without the need to stand up - result or what?  Now I just need to practice being on it for 6 hours or so...

And it's been a week of Girl Power - Jenny Jones, Lizzie Yarnold and Davina McCall who has completed 500 miles of swimming, cycling and running for Sport Relief.   Sponsor her here!

It makes my 100 miles in one day look slightly more manageable...
