This week I have bought two pairs of shoes for completely different reasons....
Firstly I decided I should, on occasion, be able to look Really Smart for work. It doesn't happen often, but I don't have any Really Smart shoes. Or frocks, for that matter, so on a wet Saturday we went shopping... I tried things on, Guy said 'lovely' or nothing at all (which means 'not lovely') and I duly bought frocks. And then shoes. I fell in love with these instantly and they were in the sale so they were a complete BARGAIN. And then I got even more discount because one had been in the window so the colours don't match. But it'll be ok because now I've put the other one in the window at home so it'll fade too.

No, I have no idea how I'm going to walk in them.... Very slowly, probably.
And I've been having more physio because of the aborted run last weekend. And then (this is where the 'stupid' bit comes in) I realised that when I started running (August last year) I had knee problems until I got some orthotic shoes for my overpronation. So when it came time to buy trail running shoes what did I do? Yep, bought ordinary ones off the shelf. DOH! How thick is that??? And how long ago??? January. Good Grief. So I phoned a proper running shoe shop in Cardiff and asked if you can get trail running shoes for overpronation and was told yes, of course, (stupid question, apparently) so I went and got some.
These are as ugly as the other ones are beautiful...
But at least I'll be able to walk in them.
And then my lovely sister-in-law phoned to say that my niece, Gemma, was playing as an invited rider at the Polo At The Castle in Cardiff and did we all want to go and watch... so we did!
This is Gemma when I was trying to ply her with champagne before her riding (she sensibly declined):
And this is her in action... She rode two different ponies and the second one didn't want to go anywhere near the ball or the arena hoardings. Apparently not great assets in a polo pony...
Talented or what? And her brother, Charly, is of course the sub-48-minute crocodile. What a pair. It's Charly's birthday today (happy birthday Charly and all that) so obviously I sent him a present like a good auntie:
A lump hammer and a bolster.
