Getting slower...

Er, 48 minutes. Yes, that's right, 48 minutes.... There were a couple of reasons for this:

1. I met Louise, wife of Fit Mark, on the bridge to the main road. She was out with Charlie (11 weeks) testing a new baby carrying thing, and trying to take a photo of them both herself... so I stopped to take a photo and we had a lovely natter about all sorts of stuff, including that I'm rubbish at running...

2. When I started my knees ached, my shins ached and my ankles ached. I probably should have stopped, but thought I might 'run through it'. I didn't. Half way round my little 3k course I decided I could be doing damage to things like knees and ankles, so I walked home. Walking is slower than running, even at the speed I run.

3. I had a jabbing pain in my lower back when I started. This was quite worrying until I adjusted the position of my Blackberry in my trousers pocket (centre back of trousis) and the jabbing pain stopped. Wish the knees were so simple!

So: Plan for the next few days. Um, not sure. Any ideas? I think probably lay off the running, do as many knee exercises as physically possible and see if that helps...

More news at the weekend!
