One working kneecap...

Yep, today I have been Making Decisions. The first one is that I'm not going to hurtle to Bath or anywhere else to resolve the trainer issue before the Tri. The ones I have are comfy and they don't give me blisters - that's good enough for me. Besides, they're pink so they match my Girly Pink Helmet, although they won't match the brown shorts which will arrive soon...

The second decision is to go back to Steve the Physio to see if I'm on the right lines... I have an appointment soon after lunch and he says that my left kneecap is now almost straight (HOORAY), but the right one is still pointing determinedly in the wrong direction. He says that I can cycle, swim and do as many of the knee exercises as I can bear... He applies rather spectacular strapping to my right knee which, when combined with the exercises, will 'enourage' my kneecap to straighten. It's like one of those square plasters that you see on the knees of tennis players - I've always wondered what they did. It's literally a strap to pull the patella back into place. I think this is the equivalent of speaking severely to my kneecap - you know, the 'stay here or there'll be trouble' sort of approach. Will it work?

I spend the remainder of my afternoon and evening doing the exercises as much as I can. It's now less than two weeks till the Tri (eek!) and I am getting Very Excited - I can't wait!

Guy noticed when we were cycling that my left knee points inwards as I pedal. And my right foot points out when I run. I shall have to concentrate very hard - 'left knee out' on the cycle and 'right foot in' on the run. I may fall over...
